Queenstown forming one of the Olympic Rings for YOG

The Secondary Two pupils will form one of the 5 olympic rings at the Opening Ceremony of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games on 14 August!

All those involved are now in the midst of rehearsals.

See the photo taken with the Minister when he visited the pupils on their training on 25 June.

The 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games is the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, a major international sports and cultural festival to be celebrated in the tradition of the Summer Olympic Games from August 14 to August 26, 2010, during the XXIX Olympiad. The Games will be held in Singapore at the Youth Olympic Village on the Nanyang Technological University campus.

2. ACES DAY Dance Competition

Judging Criteria:

1. Choreography (20%)
dance patterns, level of difficulty of stunts

2. Techniques (20%)
rhythm, clarity, entertaining

3. Costumes (20%)
shows multi-culture, multi-sport, relevance to the theme of YOG

4. Precision (20%)
unity, coordination, timing, spacing

5. Bonus (20%):
synopsis of how the dance fits the YOG theme;
teacher involvement in the dance
